Place of Origin:

Native to Australia and Tasmania, now widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions.

USDA Growing Zone:

Zones 9–11 outdoors. Can be grown in containers in colder zones and brought indoors.

Soil pH:

Prefers slightly acidic to neutral soil, ideal range 5.5 to 7.0.

Watering:

Low to moderate water needs. Water regularly when young, then reduce. Drought-tolerant once established.

Fertilizing:

Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in spring. Avoid overfeeding.

Pruning:

  • Prune lightly to shape and remove damaged or leggy growth.
  • When tall and leggy, cut back to stimulate new shoots.
  • Best done in early spring.

Light Requirements:
